These city and town plat maps are extremely rare due
to the 1938 and 1954 Hurricanes, which wiped out most
of the old atlases from which the maps came. At that
point in time, these old atlases were just old books,
often kept in damp basements or attics, once the water
and heat damage took it's toll, very few of these maps
survived the water, mold, or weather conditions.
We buy maps and atlases from estates, auctions, individual
collectors and map brokers from around the world.
We buy & sell quality, antique maps.

We have a prized collection of framed and unframed antique
maps from many foreign countries is dated from the early
1700's to early 1900's. Beautifully framed maps of Ireland,
Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Africa, Germany, Great
Britain, Scotland and many other countries are on
display at our Providence stores. Unframed maps can be
custom framed to match your decor. We frame antique maps
using acid free materials, 100% cotton rag mats and UV
filtering glass to protect these rare specimens of history.
Our designers factor the origin and age of the every map
before selecting the perfect frame and mat colors to enhance
the beauty of each map. All maps tell a story; sometimes
dating a world event, substantiating a
historic fact or documenting a period in time. Certificates
of Authenticity are issued with most of our maps if we
can confirm the origin and history of the map, otherwise
our maps are sold as decorative wall art. Maps make a
great gift! As for placement in the home ... antique maps
fit
in just about any room. Maps in an office or boardroom
are perfect wall decor and they make for great conversation.
